The Detail

The room features a predominantly oak and high gloss pearl white scheme with burr oak highlighting. The horizontal and vertical bands of burr oak are used to frame a section of furniture or bind it together. The beautiful woods are complimented with polished glass, brushed aluminium and travertine floor to create a rich and welcoming warmth. The worktop is a man-made quartz stone composite that is non-porous and extremely durable, making it particularly suitable for a kitchen of such heavy usage.

Not surprisingly for professional cooks, a kitchen with the highest quality appliances and sufficient work areas was an absolute priority. The Caldesis wanted Gaggenau appliances throughout the kitchen and the cooking hub features a bespoke Gaggenau cooktop, two combination steam ovens, two conventional ovens and two warming drawers located together next to a full height Vario Cool fridge which is hidden behind an oak veneered door.

A large bank of storage cupboards cleverly integrates a Gaggenau freezer with ice maker and chilled water filter, coffee machine and full height wine cooler and finish with a curved, extended cupboard set at just the right height to prepare cappuccinos and quick snacks from the toaster.
