A Victorian Home in Cambridgeshire Kitchen Plan

The Vision

“In discussions at my showroom, it became clear to me that whilst the clients were sociable, loved food and entertaining and wanted to incorporate dining, they were looking for something beyond a formal dining scenario; something that was not only distinctly different but reflected their individual personalities.”

The idea of two kitchens in one began to form in Simon’s mind. Removing the internal walls in the back of the house was vital to create a blank canvas from which Simon could then bring his vision to life. The ‘His’ kitchen would be an informal area where quick meals could be delivered and additional equipment integrated to make it ready for any party. The ‘Hers’ kitchen would then be opposite, with more traditional features and storage space. The two kitchens would have mirroring curves to create a stunning, visual symmetry.

In keeping with a substantial period home, Simon used solid oak and cream lacquers to create an old English feel, fused with burr oak for a luxurious and contemporary touch. The result is a modern English kitchen of two distinct halves that form a vibrant and breathtaking whole.
